With a lifetime interest in music & sound, Nicky C's career kicked off by his decision to embark on an Audio course. While stull studying, Nicky was introduced to DJing and worked part-time playing at house parties, transporting his own sound system back and forth. As he gathered momentum, the transition to larger audiences was inevitable and he added to his experience with gigs such as corporate dinner functions, school and college prom nights. His lucky break came when he was offered part-time apperances at clubs which developed into regular weekend apperances.
Nicky C aka Nicholas Choong landed his first full time DJ job in 1995 when he joined the R&B Club, "The Cactus Club". At this time he was playing 90's pop and new wave but was heavily influenced by the British rave culture and was still playing at local scene gigs.
